Plane Crash
Barker and Goldstein escaped the plane and told first responders four others were on board. Goldstein was asleep at the time of the crash and woke up to Barker screaming.
The probable cause of the crash was the pilots failure to maintain control of the airplane during a descent over water at night which was a result of spatial disorientation.
. Kennedy was not qualified to fly his plane by instruments only. Both suffered second and third degree burns and received skin grafts. The crash occurred in conditions not legally requiring such qualification.
Barker opened the door to the plane and slid down the planes wing.
